Reproducing an obsolete drive sprocket from a worn sample

A discontinued drive sprocket brought back into production from a single worn part, with no drawing available.

The challenge
A piece of field equipment was down for a drive sprocket the original manufacturer no longer supplied. The only reference was the worn part itself — no print, no part number that led anywhere.
Our approach
We measured the sample, worked back to the correct tooth form and bore, and cut a replacement to match the original geometry, verifying the result on our inspection equipment.
The outcome
A drop-in replacement that let the customer get the equipment back into service — and a reusable definition for the next time the part wears.

A quieter helical gear set for a compact drive

Helical gearing cut and inspected to smooth out a noisy, space-constrained drive.

The challenge
A device drive was running louder than the design intended, in a housing with very little room to change the layout.
Our approach
Working from the customer's print, we cut helical gearing suited to smoother, quieter engagement and inspected the profile and lead against the drawing to confirm the tooth form.
The outcome
Gearing that met the drawing and ran the way the design intended, without a redesign of the housing.

Cutting a legacy bevel gear to a decades-old drawing

A bevel gear for an older platform, produced exactly to a legacy print with full inspection.

The challenge
An older platform needed a bevel gear reproduced precisely to a legacy drawing, with no room for substitution.
Our approach
We cut the gear to the print as specified on our bevel gear generators and inspected it against the supplied drawing rather than approximating any dimension the drawing defined.
The outcome
A part that matched the original drawing and kept an older platform supported.
