Helical Gear Case Study
A rock drill manufacturer came to us with the problem of helical gears binding in their assembly. We had them send us sample parts from their present gear supplier and inspected them using our proven inspection methods.
Using our calibrated Fellows lead measuring and Fellows profile checker we found excessive lead and profile error — no more tests were necessary. We wrote a quality plan for our potential customer, CG&S was awarded a contract, and our rock drill builder has been drilling holes in their competition ever since.
