Quality Policy
Quality is not a department at Commercial Gear — it is how every job is run, from reading the drawing to shipping the part.
Commercial Gear & Sprocket Company is committed to manufacturing gears and power-transmission products that meet our customers’ specifications, verified against the drawing and delivered on time — every part, every order.
How we hold to it
01
Make it to the print
Every part is produced to the customer's specification. We do not approximate a dimension the drawing defines — the tooth form, pitch and material on your print are what we cut.
02
Verify, don't assume
Quality is confirmed on calibrated instruments, not taken on faith. Profile, lead and composite error are measured against the drawing on ITW, Fellows, Gleason and Brown & Sharpe equipment.
03
Work to a recognized standard
Our Quality Control Department bases its inspection on the AGMA Inspection Manual 2000-A88. Commercial Gear is a member company of the American Gear Manufacturers Association.
04
Stand behind the work
With over 120 years of combined industry experience, our people examine, define and resolve gear problems — including troubleshooting parts that were made elsewhere.
05
Deliver on time
Expedient delivery is part of quality. A perfect part that arrives too late has failed the customer, so on-time delivery is built into how the shop is run.
06
Improve continually
We invest in the most modern precision and inspection equipment available and keep it calibrated, so our capability grows with our customers' requirements.
