Our Process
From your first inquiry to the day the parts ship, here is how a job moves through the shop — and where the quality is built in at every step.
Inquiry & Quote
It starts with your print, a sample of the part, or a description of the application. We review what you need and come back with a fast, accurate quote.
- Send a drawing, CAD file or a sample to reverse-engineer
- No print? Describe the application and we'll help define it
Drawing & Application Review
Before a single chip is cut, our engineers read the drawing the way it will be inspected — tooth form, pitch, material and any secondary processes called out.
- Tooth form, diametral pitch and class confirmed
- Material and secondary operations identified
- Over 120 years of combined experience on hand for design support
Material & Planning
We source the material your print specifies and plan the routing — which machines cut it, in what order, and where it goes for heat treat or finishing.
- Material to your specification
- Many sources for heat treating and metal finishes
Gear Cutting
The part is cut on the right machine for the job — shaping, hobbing, bevel generating or thread milling — by machinists with decades on the equipment.
- Hobbing 1/4" to 60", shaping 1/8" to 36" dia, bevel 1/4" to 24" dia
- Spur, helical, bevel, worm, splines, racks and sprockets
Machining & Secondary Operations
Turning, milling, deburring and any secondary work happen on our CNC and manual equipment, so the part leaves complete rather than half-finished.
- Haas and Doosan CNC lathes and mills, plus a full tool room
- Deburring, chamfering and finishing in house
Quality Inspection
The tooth form is verified against your drawing on calibrated instruments — not assumed. Our quality program follows the AGMA Inspection Manual 2000-A88.
- Profile, lead and composite inspection on ITW, Fellows, Gleason and Brown & Sharpe equipment
- AGMA member company; inspection to AGMA 2000-A88
Delivery
The finished part ships when you need it. Expedient, on-time delivery is one of the things the whole shop is built around.
- Prototype through production quantities
- Urgent requirement? Call and we'll talk through the schedule
